Monica Miller Creative Writing Award
Thank you for your donation in memory of Monica Miller.
Monica was a long-time radio host/producer at CKUA Radio Network, Canada's first educational broadcaster and first public broadcaster. For many years, her programs "How I Hear It" and "Mix Tape" offered the best of the world's music from all genres, as well as entertaining, insightful conversations with musical artists from Alberta, Canada, and the world.
CKUA listeners around the world know Monica was passionate about music. However, they may not have known that she was just as passionate about books, particularly books by female authors; because Monica believed that they are a powerful way in which to amplify women's voices in society.
So, before she died, Monica, with the help of friends and family established the Monica Miller Creative Writing Award endowment fund at MacEwan University in Edmonton.
