Peter Brown - Celebrating 50 years of service to MacEwan University

Thank you for supporting education at MacEwan University through your tribute gift on the occasion of the retirement of Peter Brown.

For more than 49 years, Peter Brown has supported education at MacEwan by guiding the provision of technology to Academic Affairs.

Peter’s history goes back to the very beginning of MacEwan almost 50 years ago. When MacEwan Community College opened its doors to students for the first time, Peter Brown was the resident Audio-Visual resource expert in charge of all lab and classroom technology. He worked with designers and architects on planning for technological needs in preparation for the construction of the downtown campus.

Peter has dedicated his professional life to MacEwan, supporting Technology Services across the campus, but for the past many years, Peter has served as Manager, Technology Services in the Faculty of Arts and Science where he has established MacEwan’s most effective process for serving the technology needs of faculty and staff, enabling the best delivery of services to students.

Peter has requested that in place of retirement gifts to him personally, anyone who would like to honour his legacy at MacEwan donate to the MacEwan Continuing Bursary Fund. This bursary supports continuing students across the university who demonstrate financial need in years 2, 3 and 4 of their programs.
